New Students Health Exam_New student Guidelines

If there is no typhoon day-off announced by Hsinchu City on September 6 (for undergraduate students) and September 7(for graduate students), the new student health examination will proceed as scheduled.

Due to an upcoming typhoon, adjustments have been made to the new student health examination activities. Kindly cooperate with the following arrangements:

  • If Hsinchu City announced a typhoon day-off on September 6, the health examination for undergraduate students will be postponed and rescheduled to September 9.

  • If Hsinchu City announced a typhoon day-off on September 7, the health examination for graduate students will be postponed and rescheduled to September 9.
  • Please refer to the schedule of health examination for each department as specified in the Registration Procedure Form and proceed to the Alumni Gymnasium for the new student health examination. Thank you for your cooperation.

 

 

 

 


 





2023 Fall Semester – National Tsing Hua University New Student Health Examination Notice

 Please read the following descriptions carefully and complete the new student health examination according to relevant regulations such as School Health Act and Communicable Disease Control Act. Those who fail to complete the health examination in accordance with the regulations, which may affect public safety, will be punished according to the relevant regulations of NTHU. For health examination related questions, please call 03-5715131 ext. 43000 or 31051.

Attached below are the methods to complete the new student health examination: 

 

On-campus New Student Health Examination Health Examination at Cooperative Hospital
Location

Undergraduate: Wednesday, Sep. 6, graduate: Thursday, Sep.7, please complete the health examination according to the time table of health examination for each department.

The estimated time to complete the health examination is 30 minutes. The actual time would still depend on the situation at the site.

Domestic students: Jun. 1 to Sep. 23, foreign students: Jun. 1, Oct. 20. Monday to Friday 08:30 ~ 11:00 / 13:30 ~ 16:00

  • Other than on-campus examination day: Main Campus – Division of Health Service, 1F of Clinic and Counseling Center/Nanda Campus – Division of Health Service, 1F of Student Activity Center. To apply for leave of absence on the registration day, please contact the Division of Registration (03-5712334).
  • If unable to come to school for some reasons or have completed the health examination at cooperative hospitals, please  turn in the original copy of health examination report. This report must be done after June 1, 2023, at district level or above hospitals, and all examination items must be identical to the items on the NTHU New Students Health Exam Record. In response to the operation time of each hospital's health examination report, please complete the health examination 10 to 14 days prior to the registration day. If there are missing examination items, make up examination can be done on site.
  • If applying for suspension of study: can be exempted from doing health examination but should complete and turn in health examination report during the process of applying for resuming studies.

     

Report

  1. Paper copy report: estimated receival in mid-October. Undergraduate students’ reports would be mailed to the address provided on the NTHU New Students Health Exam Record. Graduate students and exchange students’ reports would be at the Division of Health Service office, and the department offices should collect them then forward to the students.
  2. E-report: estimated available by mid-November and could be downloaded in Health Care. Examination Notices
  1. For those who have a fever or feel unwell, please wait until full recovery before doing the health examination.
  2. The examination includes blood test, urinalysis, and chest x-ray. In order to get accurate blood test results, please fast at least 6 hours prior to the blood test. You may drink water (avoid sugary drinks): 
    (1) Make sure to intake enough nutrition and drink enough water the night before the health examination. If your examination session is arranged in the afternoon, you may have breakfast as long as you follow the principle of fasting for at least 6 hours.

    (2) Please bring food for you to eat after the blood test. A box of juice would also be provided after the blood test.
  3. Do not bring valuable belongings with you or wear clothes with metallic or sequin accessories to avoid interfering with the x-ray results. (Pregnant women should NOT take the X-ray examination and must notify the nurses.)
  4. Please wear shoes that are easy to take off for weight measurement (no socks allowed when measuring).

Notice for students:

Before going to the health examination, please download and print the NTHU New Students Health Exam Record at “Division of Health Service’s website-->Downloads-->New Students--> NTHU New Students Health Exam Record”. Fill in the basic information on the first page and the health questionnaire, then bring the Health Exam Record to the cooperative hospital for the health examination.

If for some reasons you completed the health examination at the cooperative hospital mentioned above, please turn in the receipt of the health examination to the Division of Health Service.

If you completed the health examination at non cooperative hospitals, please turn in the original copy of health examination report to the Division of Health Service. The health examination must be done at district level or above hospitals, and all examination items must be identical to the items on the NTHU New Students Health Exam Record.

In response to the operation time of each hospital's health examination report, please complete the health examination 10 to 14 days prior to the registration day.
