Expansion of Public-Funded COVID-19 Vaccination Eligibility Starting January 1, 2026
Announcement: Expansion of Public-Funded COVID-19 Vaccination Eligibility Starting January 1, 2026 (Year 115)
I. Expansion Details As winter is the peak season for respiratory infectious diseases, and the frequent travel and social gatherings during the Lunar New Year holiday increase the risk of COVID-19 transmission, the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has announced an expansion of eligibility.
From January 1 to February 28, 2026, government-funded COVID-19 vaccines will be available to:
"Individuals aged 6 months and older who have not yet been vaccinated."
Since it takes approximately two weeks for the body to develop antibodies after vaccination, we encourage everyone to get vaccinated as early as possible to boost immunity and reduce the risk of severe complications or death following infection.
II. Health Recommendations
- Co-administration: You may receive the public-funded flu vaccine and the COVID-19 vaccine at the same time.
- Hygiene Habits: In addition to vaccination, please continue to practice good hygiene, such as frequent handwashing and wearing masks.
- Symptom Management: If you experience symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, or a sore throat, please seek medical attention immediately and rest at home.
- Stay Home if Sick: Do not attend work or classes if you have a fever to protect yourself and others.
