About Measles

Measles is highly contagious and spreads through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes.

1 person with measles can spread it to 9 out of 10 unvaccinated people around them.

If you are a Measles Contact, What should you do?

Do not go to class while you're sick and go to a doctor ASAP.

Get medical help as soon as possible when you feel unwell.

For diagnosed patients and contacts, please contact :

    • Division of Health Services at 03-5743000 during office hours (Mon. to Fri., 08:30-17:00)

    • Division of Student Assistance at 03-5711814 (24 hours).

Symptoms: 

Measles symptoms appear 7 to 14 days after contact with the virus. Common measles symptoms include:

  • High fever
  • Cough
  • Runny nose (coryza)
  • Red, watery eyes (conjunctivitis)
  • Rash

Measles is very contagious and can be serious.

Anyone who is not protected against measles is at risk.

Two doses of MMR vaccine provide the best protection against measles.
