Health Checkup Subsidy Announcement for Contracted Full-Time Staff Aged 40 and Above (Effective from 2026)
To safeguard the health of non-tenured faculty and staff of National Tsing Hua University (NTHU) and to promote the health-enhancement principle that prevention is better than cure, the University will provide health checkup subsidies to eligible personnel starting January 1, 2026. The relevant details are announced as follows:
1. Eligible Applicants
All full-time personnel aged 40 and above who are currently employed by the University and enrolled in Labor Insurance are eligible.
Applicable personnel include: contract teachers, research personnel, University-appointed staff, and project-based contract employees.
Note: Research personnel include distinguished research fellows, contract researchers, visiting technology experts, postdoctoral researchers, and project-based research staff.
Age eligibility is determined based on reaching 40 years old by December 31 of the previous year.
2. Subsidy Details
(1) Subsidy Amount: Up to NT$4,000 per person per application.
(2) Frequency: Once every two years.
3. Application Method and Period
(1) Application period: March 1 to December 1 each year. Late applications will not be accepted.
(2) Required documents:
- Original receipt of the health checkup conducted in the application year.
- One of the following for the health check report: copy, electronic file, or original.
Health Checkup Report Requirements: The health checkup report must be issued by a medical institution approved by the Ministry of Labor and must include the general health check items specified in Appendix 9 of the “Regulations on Labor Health Protection.” There is no restriction on additional items. If the required items are not included or the submitted documents are incomplete, applicants must supplement the missing information before they are eligible to apply for the subsidy.

4. Official Leave
Eligible applicants may apply for one day of official leave for health checkups.
5. Subsidy Restrictions
(1) Personnel who have participated in the University’s on-campus general health checkup in the same year are not eligible for this subsidy and may reapply only after two years.
(2) Personnel who have applied for this subsidy are not eligible to participate in the University's on-campus general health checkup in the same year.
(3) Newly hired personnel in the current year are not eligible for this subsidy.
(4) Personnel engaged in work involving special health hazards, who undergo legally required special health examinations, are not subject to the above duplication restrictions.
6. Additional Information
The Personnel Office will provide NT$4,000 health checkup package options from designated medical institutions and assist with registration.
New packages are signed annually. Please refer to announcements on the Personnel Office website.
