NTHU Maternal Health Protection Plan

 

  • Accordance

Article 30, 31, and paragraph 3 of Article 31 of Occupational Safety and Health Act is enacted to provide female laborers maternal health protection. 

  • Aim

Provide maternal health protection for female laborers who conduct tasks which is susceptible to maternal health hazard.

  • Policy focus
  1. Special measures are adapted for maternal health protection, which shall not be regarded as discrimination, and ensure the right to work. 
  2. Risk evaluation, hazard elimination, working condition adjustment or rearrangement, shall be taken for the person involved, in order to provide protection for reproductive function, maternal and fetus' health.  
  • Definition

Maternal health protection: measures taken for female laborers who conduct work which is susceptible to hazard, including hazard evaluation and control, physician consultation, risk classification management, suitable work arrangement and other related measures.  

  • Applicable to
  1. Pregnant employees . 
  2. Employees up to 2 years postpartum.

  3. Employees  who are still breastfeeding 2 or more years after postpartum.

  4. Employees childbearing age who proactively request an assessment.
