The outdoor smoking area in campus would be closed during the nationwide level 3 alert.

Context:

  1. The nationwide alert has risen to level 3 due to the serious pandemic. Hence, people should put on their mask while they are out. Once violation acts are caught, fine will be levied from 3,000 to 15,000 NTD in accordance with Communicable Disease Control Act Article 70 paragraph 1. Smoking at outdoor smoking areas might encounter fines; in addition, if smokers were under infection, they would have face greater possibility of triggering severe illness or death. Among that, it might cause a great exposure to the passersby.
  2. According to School Health Act and Tobacco Hazard Prevention Act, all faculties and staffs are obligated to stop smokers who smoke outside the designated smoking area in campus. The contact listed on the point 7 are as follows:
    (1) Please contact the Division of Health Service (03-5743000) of health education related information.
    (2) Please contact Campus Security of General Affairs (03-5714769) if your advice went in vain.
    (3) Please contact Tobacco Complaint Center (0800-531531) to report violation of smoking at the sidewalk near school to the Department of Health.
  3. Reference of reporting all kinds of tobacco violation cases is available on the website of the Health Promotion Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare. Please report to the local Department of Health through the pay-free number with both the reporter and the reported person’s information such as name, addresses and contact, as well the related violation evidence as photos or recordings inclusive of the violated fact, time and place.
  4. As for tobacco consultation and transfer, please contact the Division of Health Service. For those people above 18 are under the National Health Insurance who have the willing to quit smoking, once the Nicotine addiction test score reaches above 4 or smoke over 10 cigarettes every day, regardless of past quit-smoking clinical experience, the Health Promotion Administration, Ministry of Health and Welfare subsides 2 quit-smoking treatments and health-education therapies, each of which has 8 weeks per treatment. However, one therapy or treatment is limited to finish with the same clinic or the same pharmacy within 90 days.
